Monster Hunter World Was The Top Selling Game on the PSN Store in January

Capcom’s Monster Hunter gambit has paid off in spades- the game is the highest rated game in the franchise, and has already shipped 6 million copies worldwide, just two weeks out from its launch. So it should really come as no surprise to anyone that Monster Hunter World was also the most downloaded game on PSN for the month of January, beating out Dragon Ball FighterZ, which was the other major release for the month.

In the US, Dragon Ball ended up coming in at second place, with Madden taking the third spot, while in Europe, Horizon and FIFA were the number two and three games; Dragon Ball‘s omission in the European list is a bit perplexing, since anime and Japanese media has traditionally always done well in European markets.

Given just how fantastic Monster Hunter is, I am really happy at how well it has done. The game is available now on PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release coming later this year. Meanwhile, check out the full download charts for PSN in January for yourself below.
