When the more recent Final Fantasy titles will finally shed their PlayStation console exclusivity to make their way over to Xbox is a question we’ve been asking for a while now, and after weeks and months of rumours, we finally have a concrete answer.
At the recent Xbox Games Showcase, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is finally coming to Xbox, with Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade officially due out for Xbox Series X/S sometime this Winter. A specific release date has yet to be announced.
At the same time, Square Enix has also announced that 2023’s Final Fantasy 16 is now available on Xbox Series X/S. The action title is purchasable on Microsoft’s console today, with both of its expansions also available. Check out both of their Xbox announcement trailers below.
What does that mean for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Xbox release? Leaks have claimed that the action RPG will release for Microsoft’s platform sometime in 2026. Read more on that through here.
